Police identify nonverbal minor found in northeast Atlanta

APD says they have identified the person and called off the search.

ORIGINAL:

Atlanta Police Department is asking for your help locating the parents of a young man who was found in northeast Atlanta Monday night.

APD said Monday that officers at 810 N. Highland Ave. NE would have responded about a criminal trespassing report.

APD says when officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with a nonverbal, possibly autistic young man.

Officers searched the area but did not locate the person’s family or anyone who knew them.

Medical staff were on site and provided medical assistance.

TREND STORIES:

Investigators with APD’s Special Victims Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying the young man and reuniting him with his family.

If anyone recognizes the young man in the photo or knows how to get in touch with his family, they are asked to call 911, the Atlanta Police Department’s Special Victims Unit at (404) 546-4260 or Crime Stoppers at (404) 577 to turn -TIPS (8477).
