Miley Cyrus Recalls Falling In Love With Liam Hemsworth “In Real Time” On Set

Miley Cyrus remembers falling in love with Liam Hemsworth on the set of The last song in one of the latest episodes of his “Used To Be Young” TikTok video series.

After discussing how she rose to stratospheric stardom as a child star on the Disney Channel, the “Flowers” singer finally opened up about her famous first love and ex-husband, hunger games actor Liam Hemsworth. Cyrus explained how the two first met while the production was in the process of auditioning male actors for The last songwhich finally came out in 2010 and immortalized the couple on the big screen.

“In 2008, I needed to do another feature film for Disney, and I didn’t want it to be part of the Hannah Montana“, she said. “Once the script was written, it was time to audition all the guys who would play Will, my boyfriend in the film. We had gone from thousands to the bottom three, and Liam was one of those bottom three.

“I think one of the things that made this movie so special was seeing two very young people fall in love with each other, which was happening in real time and in real life, so the chemistry was undeniable,” she continued. “And that was the start of a 10-year long relationship.”

The famous couple originally dated between 2009 and 2013 and also got engaged during that time. In 2013, they separated but finally got back together in 2016. After losing their Malibu home in the Woolsey fire, they tied the knot among family and friends in an intimate ceremony in December 2018.

Sadly, Cyrus’ rep announced the couple’s split in August 2019, less than a year after they got married. During a December 2020 interview with Howard Stern, Cyrus reflected on their divorce, which was finalized in January 2020.

“We were together 16 years,” Cyrus began. “Our house burned down. We had been engaged – I don’t know if we really thought we were going to get married, but when we lost our house in Malibu – and if you listen to my voice before and after the fire, they’re very different, so this trauma really affected my voice. And I was actually in South Africa, so I couldn’t go home, and my animals were tied to a pole on the beach. I lost everything.”

The singer added that she is an avid collector of classic rock memorabilia, including vintage items depicting the king of rock and roll. “I had Polaroids of Elvis, like in the front row, handed down to me – I asked a few grandmothers to give me their Polaroids of Elvis. I’ve always befriended my friends’ grandmothers so I could get products from the artists I love.

Cyrus continued, “I had so many and it was all gone, all the songs I wrote were in that house. Every picture of me my parents gave me, all my scripts, I lost it all. And so trying to piece that together, instead of saying, “Oh, nature kind of did something that I couldn’t do myself; it forced me to let go, I ran towards the fire. Which is not abnormal, many animals do this and end up dying, like deer running through the forest. »

“You’re drawn to this heat and the fact that I’m an intense person and I don’t want to sit with it, and I don’t want to say, you know, ‘What could be helpful? on this subject ?’ I just held on to what was left of that house, which was him and I. And I really love him and I loved him very, very, very much and I still do. , I will always love her,” the singer told Stern.
