Jimmy Fallon from The show tonight has been accused by 16 of its employees — two current and 14 former — of making the workplace toxic and unhealthy.

The officers spoke with A rolling stone for a segment Rolling Stone exposé in which they claimed it was common knowledge to every person on the set Tonight’s show workplace that the host has “Jimmy good days” and “Jimmy bad days”.

As for Jimmy’s bad days, workers said they witnessed the host’s erratic nature and unpredictable behavior, including temper issues.

Staff members also said the host star had “bitten team members, expressed irritation over the smallest things, and berated and belittled employees out of frustration” on several occasions in front of other colleagues or team members.

“It was like if Jimmy was in a bad mood, everybody’s day was screwed,” one former employee claims in the material.

“People wouldn’t be joking in the office and they wouldn’t be standing around talking to each other. It was very much like focusing on whatever you had to do because Jimmy was in a bad mood and if he saw him he might take off.’

Staff members say Fallon’s “outbursts” have adversely affected their mental health, including nightmares, hair and weight loss and suicidal thoughts. They talked to A rolling stone anonymously out of concern for revenge – which they say has also been a problem on the show.

“Mentally I was at the lowest point of my life. I didn’t want to live anymore. I was thinking about taking my own life all the time,” claimed one former employee. “Deep down I knew I would never do it, but in my head I’m like, ‘Why am I thinking about this all the time?’

While filming a segment with Jerry Seinfeld, two staff members recalled an “awkward” episode in which Fallon apparently publicly “scolded” a staff member in charge of his cue cards. Seinfeld allegedly told Fallon to apologize, which he did.

“It was very embarrassing and Jerry [Seinfeld] was like, ‘You should apologize to him,’ almost trying to turn it into a joke,” a former employee claimed. “It was one of the weirdest moments and so many people were there so it’s hard to forget.”

Subsequently, after the story was published, Seinfeld sent a statement to Rolling Stone in response: “This is so stupid. I remember that moment quite well… I teased Jimmy about a mistake and we all had a good laugh about how rarely Jimmy got kicked out. It wasn’t uncomfortable at all. Jimmy and I still think about it sometimes and laugh. Idiotic turn of events.”

In a statement in response to A rolling stone article representative for NBC avoided mentioning Fallon by name.

“We are incredibly proud of The Tonight Show and providing a respectful work environment is a top priority,” the spokesperson said.

“As in any workplace, we’ve had employees raise questions; they were investigated and action taken where necessary. As always, we encourage employees who believe they have experienced or witnessed behavior inconsistent with our policies to report their concerns so we can address them accordingly.”
